Carroll County, Virginia is in the heart of Southwest Virginia with a deep musical history. The neighboring City of Galax is the proclaimed World’s Capital of Old Time Mountain Music and hosts the largest and oldest fiddlers convention every August. Many old time and bluegrass musicians still call Carroll County home.
Carroll County Public Schools is happy to host Carroll County JAM through the 21st Century Community Learning Center Eagle Explorers after school program. This program is offered to children at Gladeville Elementary on Glendale Rd., Galax, VA on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15 – 5:30. Many community members have a special interest in helping preserve the musical traditions through this partnership.
