OPEN POSITION
Director, Alleghany Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM)
This position requires strong administrative and management skills. Appreciation of traditional Appalachian music, experience working with children, and experience in fundraising preferred. This is a twenty-hour part time position with pay commensurate with experience. While there are two afternoons that require specific weekly hours, there are also performances that may require a few nights and weekends each semester.
The director is expected to be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the after school traditional music program as well as the fiscal management of the program. The director will also be expected to maintain good community and public relations and to guide and communicate with the JAM instructors. Monthly meetings and communications with the JAM Advisory Board are expected.
