Donate to JAM

We operate largely on contributions from  individuals and philanthropic funds.  Your  tax-deductible donation allows us to help create new JAM programs and continue providing benefits at no charge to more than 55 JAM programs. Together, we can provide incomparable opportunities and truly make a difference for thousands of children throughout Appalachia!

We envision a world in which all children have the opportunity to experience community through the joy of participating in traditional mountain music together.

Our mission is to provide communities with the tools and support they need to teach children to play and dance to traditional old time and bluegrass music.

We believe that children who are actively engaged in traditional mountain music are more connected and better prepared to strengthen their communities for future generations.

Other Ways You Can Help

  • Donate Instruments and Accessories!

JAM always welcomes donations of good, easily playable,  serviceable instruments and accessories.  Capos, tuners, gig bags, picks,  strings and straps are also put to good use! We distribute donated instruments to our affiliates in need.  Please call (276) 773-0573 to set up your tax-deductible instrument donation today.

  • Volunteer!

JAM always needs volunteers, especially at regional kids learning and showcase events, and other festivals where kids are performing! We have partnered with many major traditional music festivals such as IBMA’s annual festival, the Earl Scruggs Music Festival, FloydFest, Galax Fiddlers Convention, and many others.
