Junior Appalachian Musicians, Inc. (JAM) is proud to announce, in partnership with South Arts, the first-ever conference for teaching artists in JAM affiliated programs! Participation will equal certification in the new JAM Teacher Development program, allowing for a substantial hourly rate increase for each certified instructor. Sign up now to reserve your spot; space is limited.
The goals of this professional development gathering include filming panel sessions led by master instructors and music education professionals, and offering skill development, higher level learning, and a pathway for connections between musicians and programs in the mountainous 5-state region of North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.
All attendees are invited to participate in interviews for archives; those involved with the formation and development of JAM over the last 23 years are invited to be honored in a special documentation project of the history of the organization, as well. 100% costs of attending are covered for all instructors in affiliated JAM programs. Affiliation status must be up to date. For more information about your program’s status, please contact Executive Director, Brett Morris at [email protected].
