Junior Appalachian Musicians: Mountain Music for Kids The musical culture of Southwest Virginia is steeped in Appalachian instruments like the banjo, fiddle and duclimer. Made possible by the Smith Mountain Arts Council, the Junior Appalachian Musicians affiliate in Franklin County, VA teaches traditional mountain music in an after school program.
